:: Saturday, November 30, 2002 :: Driving in Snow I thought I was going to go crazy with the Bitchy Mom's paranoia over the weather here this week. She flew in to spend Thanksgiving with me in a nearly empty dorm. Nice? Yes, in some ways. I suppose this column should make me happy to know she's not the only one that goes crazy when one flake hits the ground. It doesn't. I just annoys me to know that if I'm driving past this guy, she would just use him as an example of why I should slow down to 10 miles an hour on a cleared interstate. I understand that a dusting of snow shuts everything in Oklahoma down for three weeks. I've been here for almost four years! I have learned a thing or two about winter driving. Granted, I will admit that I have more to learn. For example, I cannot get out once my car gets stuck in the snow. An ex of mine was from Wisconsin. Every morning that I left his house in winter, he had to back my car out of the driveway. The one morning that he left before I got my car out, I got very stuck. There was probably three and a half feet of snow on the ground at that point in winter. My wimpy little Cavalier doesn't like the snow. There's really no point to the story so I won't continue. Just don't get stuck in snow. But don't be afraid to drive on a cleared road either.
